How Big are WHU
|
Using the unwritten formula involving history, trophies, attendance and fan base. We are clearly not as big as Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool .... What about Newcastle? or Leeds? or Villa?
Even though Forest and Derby have won more we have to be bigger than them. Same with Wolves, Preston etc who won loads ages ago.

Interesting debate but the one that really matters is the Deloitte annual report on football finance. WH is the 29th largest football club in the world and steadily headed for the top 20 over the next few years....
WH is very big...

Martin Jol would run him pretty close in the waist measurement stakes mate. Don't know where he is today mind you. Probably feeding his face somewhere.

"the unwritten formula" ??????
On the manager size formula, West Ham is one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest.
I cant think of a single manager that could out weigh BFS
We are HUGE......

Villa aren't big at all. I work in the Midlands and have met very few of them.

How do you decide what's big? Trophies? If so how far back do you go. Go back far enough and the fucking Old Etonians are a massive set up. For me it's a combination of crowds (not just when doing well) and trophies, Where do we stand? Crowd wise about 9th or 10th I'd guess. Trophies? Not exactly tripping over them are we but we've won 3 FA Cups and 1 ECWC since Newcastle won anything. But one thing is for sure. If and when Newcastle win something I know where I'm going to rush off to for a good night on the lash that evening!!!

It was a league game 3pm kick off on a Saturday, from memory they increased the allocation only a week before by around 3k and it sold out.
Think i read it was the largest away following in the UK for that season.
